Artist Statement
The work is about the surface and what is underneath. The dependant difference of the created surface and the support is the similar the interior and the exterior of an object. The act of painting and drawing can create or conceal an object. I think about the external’s dependency on the internal. Through my work I communicate the fragility of powerful objects, the tenderness of structural objects, and the beauty of an unsettling situation.
