Artist Statement
I’ve been working on my Braid series of drawings and sculptures for over seven years. These drawings approach the realm of eccentric abstraction and are usually intimate in nature, sometimes erotic.

Over the years, with a nod to Surrealism, I have worked with forms that convey both male and female qualities. I stretch the form and the notion of what a braid is and in the process often anthropomorphized it. The results address issues of intimacy, desire, fear, trust.
