Essentially I am a diarist – sometimes using the power of words, but mostly replacing words and ideas with imagery. My personal experiences provide fodder for my drawings. As I flip through family albums or the endless stream of magazines promising a well-lived life, I visually grab and borrow images that speak. Details are delicately drawn to allot a sneak peak into my private life, which at times may seem embarrassing yet are ultimately sentimental. Using materials convenient and controllable to dictate my activity, my somewhat familiar content encourages a desire for understanding the human condition and the natural world.
