Artist Statement
I make art like a mathematician or scientist, striving to unravel perplexing scenarios through careful consideration, thoughtful manipulation, and happy accidents. The seed that forms my work delineates a specific, miniscule structure within a larger construction or landscape. It reminds us that each whole entity comprises much smaller ones, wholes in themselves. The patterns created reference the movement of cells, people, thoughts.  While the project of existence - whether that of a solitary cell or that of a chaotic community – may seem incomprehensible, within these patterns there is a silent, beautiful, and clear design in the making.
