Artist Statement
Drawing is emphasising and disregarding at the same time, both in how it is portrayed and what is portrayed, and both of these struggle to take precedence. In my drawings the two things are almost inextricable because they are linked entirely naturally. The one follows on from the other. It is virtually impossible to make a clear distinction between form and thing, to see only one or the other. So what we can do is to travel inversely the drawn out way, which will be a continuous movementThe perception alternates between the long and the short view, between the large and the small and there is a continual interchange of distance and perspective. Also the perception alternates between the subtle but ineluctable form and the things we think to recognise, from the route and locations. The lager the image, the further people will be able to roam, because my hand itself is never enlarged. It keeps to its own rhythm whatever the size of the picture is.In fact you can do nothing else but go on a journey.
