Artist Statement
I was born in Muskogee Oklahoma in 1967, the miscreant only child of X and Y. I insistently avoided schoolwork and instead began to teach myself how to draw. Insects and animals. Insects and animals in amazingly fine and focused detail. This was the entirety of myself-tutelage. Now grown and still self educated in all my various disciplines, I continue to draw Insects. Insects and monsters. Perfect Monsters. Ideal Monsters. I realized years ago that I was continually and repetitively pursuing monsters, both fictional and factual. I work in a wide variety of media and styles, yet a strong continual focus on drawing persists. For me, obsessions with both comparative anatomy and natural history are constant, and are underlying themes in the majority of my work. My short list of art deities would be DADO (Miodrag Djuric), Hans Bellmer, Daniel Spoerri, Roger Loewig, and Frederik Ruysch.

I currently live and work in Los Angeles.
