Artist Statement

There is great beauty in the way that science strives to order the world. Speaking to this organization and structure, the work is a non-literal use of the imagery of science, using layers of diagrams from engineering, math and physics to create surface and depth. The work is inspired by science in its omnipresence and omnipotence in today’s society, while also referencing the more personal experiences from my upbringing in a household of scientists.

My current work deals with accumulation and repetition. This accumulation of material speaks to the structure inherent in the precepts of science; experiments repeated, results tallied. This amassing of visual materials reflects the rigorous order involved in the structured investigation leading to understanding and an ordered account of the universe.
