Artist Statement

An important topic in my work is the human being: people from all layers of society, with their distinctive characteristics and oddities, without judging them. Unlike the society's pursuit of perfection, I want to make some room for the imperfect.

My drawings are figurative, but deviate from true-to-life renderings. I admit these anomalies to intensify the expressiveness of my images. Images which don't have to be pretty, but claim my attention and leave a profound impression.
