Artist Statement
Rosilene Luduvico (*1969, Espirito Santo, Brasil)
grew up in a mountain village in Brasil and later studied at the Academy of Art in Dusseldorf from 1997 to 2003. Rosilene Luduvico‘s paintings and drawings are primarily concerned with the vastly poetic nature of the traditional genre of landscape and portraiture painting. Her central source of inspiration is nature, trees being the leitmotiv of her oeuvre. A distinct focus upon small details captured through recording the numerous movements in nature, combined with a painterly reduction, results in an abstract motif and generates an intense sentiment. Through using a special technique when applying colour to the canvas, Rosilene Luduvico seems to infuse and flood her compositions with light, often creating animated landscapes, fairy tale meadows and magical forests.
