These drawings are inspired by many things, some of which include architectural and engineering drawings, medical and scientific illustrations, maps, Indian miniature paintings, Japanese prints, the weather, and materials and their nature. These things and others are evoked by use of color, lines of various weights, and shapes with edges both hard and soft. Any sense of scale is left deliberately ambiguous allowing these drawings to refer to structures both large and small. Color is used knowing full well it is inseparable from associations in a similar way to the sense of smell and it's power to evoke and bring forth a flood of memories.
