Artist Statement
My life-size sculptures of figures and animals interweave personal narrative with social issues, selecting scenarios that explore immigration, territoriality, and sexuality. Made from newspaper and tape, which I refer to as social materials, everybody can equally access these materials, I cover each sculpture in expressive and abstract graphite markings. Inset is glass eyes, replicas of mine, alluringly staring back at us.
