Artist Statement

Old master drawings are what I look at. They are foundational, instructive, and inspirational to me in a way that contemporary drawing is not.
 
Some of my abstractions even adopt a quasi-18th Century idiom. But regardless of style, I remain guided by the venerable principles of good design and skillful craftsmanship. I consider myself to be a disciple of my favorite pre-modern draftsmen.
