Artist Statement

I create installations combining sculptural, photographic, and drawing traditions. Two waters is a recent project I created for the Chinese-European Art Center in Xiamen, which traveled to the Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and Art Space Pool in Seoul. Nominated for a Smithsonian Institute Artist Research Fellowship and the Sindoh Artist Support Program (Seoul), Two waters is my reflection on the changed historical landscape and the power of creating place through small acts of garden making.

My work has been a Time Out New York Critic's Pick, and written about in The New York Times, Artnet Magazine, Boston Globe, Harper’s Bazaar, and World Journal, among others. I'm currently Course Director for an MA Preparation course in Beijing, a collaboration with Chelsea College of Art, University of the Arts London.
