Artist Statement

My drawings use the language of traditional architectural rendering to give structure and coherence to the many subjects that interest me. Each design contains elements culled from popular culture, history, literature and art. Ghost stories mingle with memories of Texas marshland that then morph into visionary designs. All these influences come together to form hybrid monuments that operate similarly to monsters, in that multiple divisions of identity work together to reveal something new and distinct. Each drawing records these curiosities and is a lasting document of who I am.
