The work emerged from the need to develop a vocabulary in order to build my own language. I started with drawing because it is something from the order of nature I am interested in: the making.
I set up some practical guide lines to execute all the drawings. The colours: red and blue, the dimension: bi - dimensional and the structural elements: dot and line. I choose tracing paper due to its density and its almost immaterial nature.
The process of discovering drawing happened slowly. First I understood the surface, subsequently I felt the need to transgress it. I discovered paper as a medium, a surface, with sides, layers and density.
From the understanding of drawing and of colour I became aware of space and started to place the work inside it.
As one plunges into the work he realizes it feeds from itself. It is an "uroboric" process.
I started to introduce the magnet in the work as something functional. I had to find a way to place and remove the drawings from the wall quickly, without framing or hurting them. To place several nails in the wall and attach the paper to it through magnets seemed to me like a good idea. This process made it possible to have structures coming from the walls, the ceiling, and the floor.
The magnetic characteristic of this material opened up an array of new possibilities. The work evolved from something untouchable to something that you could play with, tactile, interactive. I developed wearable pieces, tactile pieces, and handling pieces.
As I started wearing the pieces something very strong happened. I understood that an object of art could be many things. It is, first of all a cultural object.
The transition occurs in the following order: Natural object, cultural object, sacred object/art object.
Man has always felt the need to materialize his desire. With the passing of time, this attempt became more and more subjective and elaborated but it is still something that is connected to our primal instincts. I try to establish relations between materials and create things that have a transcendent aspect to it. Things witch are not just things anymore. They tell a history, they acquired life.
