These Coffee Drawings are part of an on-going project that I have started since 2006. Inspired by Chinese Philosophy and Splash Ink Paintings, John Cage, chance operation and William Anastasi, each drawing is built on top of a unique and indeterminate skeletal structure created by pouring and splashing coffee and magenta ink on paper then improvise on top, like solving a puzzle, until it reaches balance and integration.
In conjunction with this drawing project, I also create collaborative and improvisational drawings with friends and family members.
