Artist Statement
I work with dynamic forms in nature with a primary interest in the repetition of patterns on a variety of scales. Through painting, drawing, and installation, my work investigates the reality of patterns by explicitly exploring the different levels of life, from the atomistic to larger organizational systems. .  The act of creating a pattern is the recreation of the complex interaction between the various levels of patterns and the mysterious connection between them.

The work derives from the observation of biological patterns replicating themselves on a variety of scales, ranging from the microscopic to the planetary. Beginning with the most simple and building to the more complex, my creative process becomes a recreation of the interaction of the different levels of life.  By mechanically connecting a fundamental element with another and another and another echoes a cell grouping together with many more cells to form a more complex organism such as a virus.
