Artist Statement

My latest work is made up from colorful and trippy hand-made drawings done with gel pens and gouache on wood, paper and panel, that are scanned into the computer, reconsidered and made into a large scale environments. All were begun without a specific idea in order to emphasize a responsive approach to drawing, inspired by years working as a scientific illustrator and working with a limited vocabulary of mark making to present a range of images that evoke a mood of sentimentality for activities of my childhood: puzzles, video games, sticker, and doodling as well as my current fascination with just being happy.
