Artist Statement
Stacy Howe is an artist that creates sanguinary assemblages on paper and nest glints of unusual growth within the banal. Using extremes of beauty, horror, and the commonplace she works to make these themes compatible if not interchangeable. Howe renders objects of material excess and polite society while tracing their links to barbarism and how we socially construct nature through etiquette.
