Artist Statement
My work is evocative of corporeal forms and bodily functions. Visceral, yet ephemeral and poetic, it bears an aura of scientific fact which, when examined closely, turns out to be fabrication. It raises questions about reality and asks if an objective perception is possible. I incorporate elements of the personal.  My clothing is used in the porcelain and in the soft pieces. The "Self" series uses photographs of the cultured bacteria harvested from my saliva. The work becomes evidence, tangible proof, of my existence.

As my interest is the body and its constant changes, the issue of time, necessary to notice a change, cannot be omitted.
