Artist Statement

My main focus for the past 15+ years has been the self-portrait. To me, a self-portrait is not necessarily meant to be an accurate reflection of the artist. Instead, it is an opportunity for the artist to, perhaps, be an actor, to show some facet of him/herself that is not usually noticed by others.

It is my job to confront the viewer, to engage them to look more deeply than what is on the surface. My self-portraits look at you, the viewer, with the intention that you will look back.
