My work involves one territory: Nature.
A nature manipulated, planted, transported, set in hierarchy, catalogued, studied, felt and recalled: gardens.
I use gardens as a tool that is simultaneously narrative, aesthetic, anthropological and mnemonic. Carrying out the role of a language that is developed according to the specific conditions of each project, using drawing, sculpture, photography and installation.
Developing issues of landscape and its importance in the context of the construction of social experiences, and the memory of the colonial process present in the migrating of vegetable species.
Gardens are in themselves metaphorical constructions, standing out as an allegory of the world.
The work is centered on the configuration of the garden as a world, outside the romantic idea of the landscape.
The place of the garden generates an articulation of life experiences from an historical and social configuration.
I import a grammar from the methodologies of botany and agriculture: grafts, classification, truncating, etc. I cross these with the artistic devices, trying to define new situations and developing them for the spectator.
Creating links between man and nature in a contemporary possibility is a point of interest to me in the development of my work.
