Artist Statement

Through my topographical works, I create a viewing space that is at once intimate and expansive.  I am intrigued by the cyclical nature of destructive forces that inevitably give way to new terrain and new possibility.  The focus of this body of work is on the contrast of surface structure between landmasses that are forged by activity beneath the surface (internal) compared to those that are formed above (external).  I see my work as a metaphor for the human condition reflecting the internal and external landscape of our lives.
