Working in comedy and animation for more than a decade, I have always been developing a specific verbal and visual language that ties the absurd and the poetic. This current body of work represents for me an extension of a comedic language ancestrally linked to MAD Magazine, George Carlin, Jacques Tati, and Oscar Wilde, among others. My subjects are taken at their most literal 'face-value', and then enter the realms of ambiguity, surreality, improvisation and satire.
Convergences with occult symbolism, politics and philosophy, historic and current events, along with autobiographical events are par for the course. I aim to find poetry, poignancy, and order amongst a barrage of anomalous information and bizarre randomness -- an imagined broken circle that can only become whole through often absurd and perverted gestures.
