Artist Statement
I like to envision place as something fluid rather than solid, flexible as opposed to ridged. It moves around us as much as we move around it. Most of my inspiration is derived from a recollected landscape. I’m most interested in the way memory decays, providing fertile ground for the imagination to grow. I collect fragmented images of nature and architecture, trees and humans, stones and bones, roofs and mountains, forest and cities, overlapping them in a composition that obscures the distinctions between civilization and nature.
