Artist Statement
I create time-based drawings of architecture. In these temporary works, I first draw the building and then digitally enlarge the drawing to the same scale as the facade. Next, I print the drawing on small sheets of paper that are hung on the facade.  Each sheet is hung methodically. Like a photocopy, the drawing of the window hangs on the window. The interlacing layers of the real and represented create a new imaginary space. Overtime, the sheets of paper deconstruct and fall off. Photographs and videos of the performative installation capture the exchange between the materials and the marks, which I use to create new artworks (drawings, prints, videos). My artworks exist in the imaginative space between the paper and the building or the artwork and the viewer. The provisional installations and the artworks that document them explore the dialogue between these spaces.
