Artist Statement

45 yrs provides a perspective on the main branches of the work.

Part of my effort to make art is spent with the linear,Florentine,New York School, sculptural spine. There is no color here. The latest group of work in this vein are these large 2 sided ( the piece is 18 ft long, draped over a dowel, and suspended from the ceiling, resulting in a ft high picture on each side. A large number of pencil marks ( a friend and I used to discuss making drawings after Louis paintings.) are highlighted by putting enamel between selected lines but not over the lines, which results in the thin "white" lines ( uncovered canvas and the pencil line)
