The Drawing Center’s exhibition program is central to our pursuit of the institution’s mission, anchoring our exploration of drawing in its many forms. The annual Exhibition Fund provides critical support for this program.
Each year, we mount approximately ten historical and contemporary exhibitions that examine and redefine traditional notions of drawing. Our old master and modern presentations frequently feature work that has never been exhibited and therefore involve extensive research, conservation, and the development of new scholarship. Long-term exchanges between contemporary artists and our curators result in site-specific projects and exhibitions that represent the most cutting-edge thinking in the field. Likewise, shows that demonstrate our investigation of the intersections between drawing and fields like architecture, design, film, music, dance, and even food are often unprecedented ventures. This multidisciplinary approach requires inventive installations, unique curatorial strategies, and significant resources. In order to continue producing our ambitious exhibitions, we need your help.
Gifts to the Exhibition Fund underwrite all costs associated with producing and mounting shows in The Drawing Center’s three galleries. To invest in the future of this institution and its award-winning exhibitions, we urge you to make a contribution today.
