Family Art Workshop
For children 8-11 and parents
In the Family Art Workshop on Saturday, April 26, 10:30am-12pm, families will participate in a workshop inspired by the work in our exhibition Len Lye: Motion Sketch. We will discuss and explore the varied forms of Lye's ideas regarding abstract animation. This will followed by hands-on experiments with lines that "move" in space, such as cut out spirals, curved lines, straight lines, or ribbons of lines that can tremble, snap, vibrate, roll, or wave.
To register, or for further information, please call (212) 219-2166 ext.205 or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org by the Friday prior. Admission is FREE! Reservations are appreciated. We require that children be accompanied by an adult.
Family Art Workshops at The Drawing Center are designed to encourage children and adults to observe, discuss, and explore art together in the intimate setting of the Center's galleries. Offered on select Saturdays during the exhibition season, Family Art Workshops connect children and their parents with the artwork on display and are inspired by the various approaches and practices of the exhibiting artists.
